Safe Nightlife Committee

 

The Safe Nightlife Committee believes in a safe nightlife for everyone. The committee is a unique partnership among bar and club owners, government, law enforcement, public safety, public health and community partners working together to build a safe and vibrant nightlife in Portland. The committee recognizes that a well-planned nightlife with resources and responsive communication between bar owners and regulatory bodies contributes to the economy, vibrancy and safety of the city.

The Safe Nightlife Committee is working on:

  • Increasing communication among stakeholders through bar summits and other venues
  • Increasing training particularly around reducing over-service and appropriate security measures, learn more about the Portland Bar Academy
  • Promoting best practice house policies for bars in Portland
  • Advocating for state and local policies that foster a safe and vibrant nightlife

The Safe Nightlife Committee meets the 3rd Thursday of the month 4:00-5:30 at the Boiler Room in Old Town Chinatown in Portland.
